Cultural Competence: Experiencing Bond and Team Building Activities Outside the Work Set-Up
Centurion Collection Management Inc. believes that a competent workforce is one of the significant keys to a company’s successful performance. The employees’ skills, mindset, and integration are vital in building and maintaining a competent workforce. While the company values the competency and welfare of its employees, our working environment continues to develop ethics and proficiency. Furthering what we can offer, the company understands that there are things more to develop beyond the usual work set- up hence putting forward to the employees’ activities.
For the development of such skills, the company creates activities for employees for them to develop various skills that can strengthen their competence. One of the off-site events that the company organized was the employees’ visit to Boracay Island in Aklan, Philippines. It was held for three days, from May 10-12, 2019. The primary purpose of the event is to build and maintain the competence of the employees through experiencing the bond and team-building activities outside the work setup. It also aims to provide ease and recreation. Employees attended work-related seminars followed by team games and activities.
This event, among others, that the company organized, helps the employees build trust among their co-workers. This trust can lead to more open communication creating integrated and organizational work quality. Moreover, trust can advance the spirit of unity in a team. The engagement they experienced can make them more comfortable in expressing themselves, leading to more effective communication. Additionally, the bond between employees can further the motivation and improve the working morale because of the developed trust. This off-site event also increases collaboration and engagement, which results in productivity growth. Aside from that, the activities can be a leeway for the discovery of new qualities such as leadership and broadening of creativity. There is also a high chance for a confidence boost that can provide the courage to execute tasks and express new ideas. This overall development can boost the company culture of competence and cultivate a deeper understanding of each and everyone’s role in the company.
